Gabon, one of the main oil-producing countries of Central Africa, has been experiencing major economic difficulties since the drastic fall in the price of a barrel of oil. Its rentier economy, entirely dependent on the black gold, goes through a difficult period marked by the fall in public revenues, the departure of the multinationals, but especially the degreasing of employees, with as major consequences the increase of the unemployment rate. In order to both solve the problem of unemployment in Gabon and diversify its economy, the Gabonese government has embarked on a major Economic Recovery Program (EMP) whose objective, among other things, is to create an economic framework favorable to the emergence of SMEs. growth drivers of emerging countries. This revolution can not be done in a country long invested by major oil companies, without the establishment of a legal and institutional framework favorable to entrepreneurship and business creation for SMEs. As such, the Gabonese State, with the assistance of the African Development Bank, has decided to strengthen the country’s entrepreneurial ecosystem by setting up multisector incubators. A pilot project of a multisector incubator has been launched in the city of Libreville. YCG was chosen to accompany the feasibility and implementation.
